There are several projects that churches could take part in with the Women’s Life Care Center. Here are a few examples:
Aluminum Can Collections: On a designated Sunday once each month, the Life Care Center’s trailer would be parked in the corner of your church’s parking lot. Your church community could drop off their aluminum cans for recycling on that day. A volunteer from your church would take the trailer to the recycler, and a check for the cans would be sent to the Women’s Life Care Center.
Baby Bottles: An announcement is printed in the church bulletin regarding the upcoming Baby Bottle fundraiser one week prior to its being implemented. Then empty baby bottles are delivered to your church and distributed on the next Sunday to those who wish to participate. A family’s loose change is collected in the bottles over a period of two weeks, and the bottles are then returned to the church, regardless of being full or not. One of our volunteers will collect the bottles. This is a great family activity where the children can actively participate and learn charity towards our neighbors.
Banquet: Look for more information coming soon about the Women's Life Care Center sponsored banquet in February, 2009. We have an exciting keynote speaker lined up and would like anyone willing to donate frequent flyer miles, to go towards her travel here, to contact us.
Request A Speaker: Our Life Care Center would be pleased to make a speaker available to any of your community members, women’s organizations, men’s clubs, youth gatherings, and other groups you may have, to give an educational and inspiring presentation about our Center and its work.
Walk For Life: In May of each year, a number of the Life Care Centers sponsor a Walk For Life around Lake Phalen. Adults, pastors, kids, youth directors and everyone is invited to sign up sponsors for the walk, or the church itself could provide sponsorship of a single representative. Activities are available for the entire family, including snacks, music and prizes. |
